06 Dec Routine Outings
At Dawson Street Children’s Co-operative, our believe that the community are an integral part of their lives and provide children with rich learning opportunities. Excursions and service events are planned to extend the educational program and further develop the current interests of children. “Participating in their communities strengthens children’s sense of identity and wellbeing” (Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework – refer to Sources). Children would often go on an excursion to the local supermarket, community garden or cafes for a routine outing. Depending on the children’s interest, the room program would extend their enquiry project into visiting the Zoo, Scienceworks or Botanical Gardens.
